Streptococcus Salivarius subsp. thermophilus is a powerful strain of probiotics that is gram-positive and a homofermentative facultative anaerobe. Previously, it went by the name Streptococcus thermophilus. It is normally curved or clubbed and is found in the colon. This bacteria can be used to culture cheese and yogurt and it produces lactase. The bacteria are considered as immuno-modulator and beneficial for digestion.
