Also known as Indian Penny wort, Brahmi, Gotu Kola is an herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the family of Apiaceae. The stem of Gotu Kola is slender, creeping, green to reddish green in colour. It contains triterpenoid, mainly asiaticoside and brahmoside. It is used both for culinary and medicinal purposes. Traditionally, it has been used to treat various health disorders and minor wounds.
